Home canning is a lot of work, but it is so worth it. I love homade preserves.

The booties are fantastic!

There are quite a few Mormons in Hawaii. My friend Megan is very involved with the faith and was very open to offering info about her practices. I really have no issues with anyone's spirituality, so long as it's not causing harm, or infringing on anyone else's rights and freedoms.

Homemade is definitely more delicious!

Thanks! Oma is very proud and I'm pretty tickled to see how happy she is with my work!

It helps having a temple and the BYU Hawaii campus. That's pretty much my view. All religions have some truth and those who actually follow the precepts tend to be better people and live better lives. You run into trouble when you cherry-pick or are confrontational my-way-or-hell.

I had no idea you were Mormon. My next door neighbor is Mormon too. And that's all the insight I have. Lol.

I love tomatoes! But fresh, we have the garden tomatoes until the plants due in October and then I suffer until July of the next year. Lol.

Haha! Yeah, we hide in plain sight sometimes. I'm not one to wear my religion on my sleeve, though I secretly admire those that do. I don't try to hide it at all, but most casual conversation doesn't lend itself to deep doctrinal discussions.

I love tomatoes too, especially fresh! We're getting into the winter growing season (we do that in the Southern desert) and I need to figure out where I can plant something and what to plant! I completely missed Spring and Summer growing, hoping to do Fall/Winter!
