This morning at 11:00 you would find me in an oil leaking car which has over heated, with a canceled cell phone, and no clue what to do. But I was determined to figure it out myself.
I say “I’ll just dump more oil into it and it’ll be fine.” I get to a gas station to buy oil.
I think “ok…Oil… Buying car oil… Never bought car oil before… Where is the oil? Ahh, oook great. Wait… there is more than one kind…. Hmmm. I think the last thing of oil I used was in a white container….”
I pay for two pints of oil and go back out to car. I remembered how to pop the hood! “Good now we are getting somewhere.” The metal pipes coming from the engine (I later learn that these are the exhaust pipes) are Glowing Red. “Uh huh…” Steam is coming out of everything. I then use my trusty Field Hockey sweatshirt to unscrew the cap so I don’t burn my hands. I get one pint mostly inside the engine. Maybe I should put some water in. The water is empty.
Someone once told me to put water in while the car is running. Alright.
Car running, check.
Cap off the water, check.
Pour in water. Suddenly my car becomes a VOLCANO of HOT water erupting over EVERYTHING!
“No No No!!!”
I burnt my hand :( But I made it to school and to the car shop where my little car will be sitting thinking about its bad behavior.
