I'm taking a break from my readings to not only write in here, but to indulge on some soup. Sodium overload, indeed. My right eye is hurting me too, but I have to keep on truckin' with my readings because I'm already behind. I need to get ahead. Time to buckle down and get serious because I spent my weekend in a Gin and Juice type way. Although very delicious, I didn't do an ounce of school work which I'll be feeling tomorrow and Tuesday.
Speaking of Tuesday, the Dalai Lama will be here at UB. I'm really looking forward to hearing him speak, I think it's really something awesome that is going on at my college campus. I don't know much about Buddhism (though I do have a mini Budda!), I still think it'd be interesting - I also think it's a very neutral sort of religious figure to pop up at UB. It's not part of that power three monoreligions, could you imagine if the Pope showed up? Or a Rabbi? Or even a representative from the Muslim community? People would be all up in arms about it and I'm sure that people have their own things for the Dalai Lama, but I feel like it's less of a problem. But yes, I'm excited. :). I think I might pack some snacks for this adventure because he's going to be speaking for a bit and I get hungry, hah. I don't know.
As much as I like boys, I've given up on them for a bit because they are much more moodier than I am. Though if I am asked out on a date where I get to wear something cute, how can I say no? ;).
I've been toying with the idea of starting my own little independent paper of sorts. More so just things me and my friends have been talking about dealing with the campus at UB, some things we find funny, and some social/political/economic issues we toss around from time to time. I think it'd be a fun adventure. I may get crackin' on that soon, maybe I'll use my UB webspace to get it started. I'll bring back my HTML skills, which I haven't used in what feels like eons.
Adventure!
