So, for those of you who actually know me, you obviously know that i have a keen desire to run about the world, wandering and gaining all those life experiences i need to be complete. I was looking at this one position, and i want it so badly..i could cry. Then i realize, a couple years ago i looked at an identical posistion and then didn't fill out the paper work. The big question...why? Why do we stick so close to home? Why do we resist the wander lust that has to take ahold of all of us at some point? Is it love, your family, your cash flow, the distance, your friends, your bed...your town? What holds us back? Humans, like most animals are fairly cautious about new things. My sister won't even try a new brand of salad until it's been tested. While i have yet to reach that level of un-trying, i still find myself avoiding the circumstances i most desire. During spinning class i was pondering this, and i played my usual "this song will tell me what my...(so on and so forth-pick a time period,relationship..ect) And this time, i picked life. Which, i'll admit is a pretty hefty order for a spinning instructor's burned cd. But good gracious. I can take a hint when i get one. (i'll put the song at the bottom..for all of you dying to figure it out!) So, i decided, if i spend so much time investing daydreaming about my little excursion, that may or may not lead me down the experience path i want..well, i'd damn sure better do it. So there. And if i can decide to take the strength to actually finish a thing i desire, everyone in the world should be able to branch out. So, if recently you've been wondering if you should...you should. Short of anything illegal enough to get you penned up..you should do it. Follow your heart. Carpe Diem..Embrace the scary stuff.(it is close to Halloween.)Be brave..cause bravery is not Not being scared, it's being scared and doing it regardless...g'night.
and now for the song..(pssst..it's by John Denver, who's obviously my new hero.)

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Comin’ home to a place he’d never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hangin’ by a song
But the string’s already broken and he doesn’t really care
It keeps changin’ fast and it don’t last for long

But the colorado rocky mountain high
I’ve seen it rainin’ fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)

He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say he got crazy once, and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept his memory

Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake

And the colorado rocky mountain high
I’ve seen it rainin’ fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)

Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land

And the colorado rocky mountain high
I’ve seen it rainin’ fire in the sky
I know he’d be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Rocky mountain high

It’s a colorado rocky mountain high
I’ve seen it rainin’ fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody’s high
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)
