More TV things
Great British Bake Off finale: So that was good! I enjoyed it! However... I've been seeing articles that have the thesis of "these bakers aren't as good as previous seasons and aren't up to the GBBO standard" and, uh, yeah, I kinda have to agree. While I really enjoyed this season, I think it was pretty stark that the standard was nowhere near as high as it's been in previous seasons, especially the previous three. As much as I liked Selasi, he was probably objectively worse than Rob from season 2. (yeah, still not over how long Rob inexplicably stayed on the show)
This is not to say that I didn't enjoy it! I did! But I kinda now really want to rewatch season four (RUBY!!!! FRANCES! KIMBERLY!) and five (MARTHA! CHETNA! RICHARD!) Or maybe just start all over again from season 1. (EDD!!! THE PERSON WHOSE NAME I CAN'T REMEMBER, BUT WHO WAS ALWAYS WAY AHEAD OF THE TIME!!)
although the bit in the "where are they now" at the end about Jane and Candice planning a road trip together... there is a point in a writer's life where you just have to go "lol, I wrote that" and run away giggling
Other tv things:
Full Frontal With Samantha Bee: she's hit her stride. Very much enjoying, ++good.
Shtisel: Israeli tv show about a charedi family. I've started the first season. I DON'T HATE IT yet. No, but actually, it's good. I found out about it because there's apparently going to be a US remake on Amazon. (I expect to thoroughly hate this US remake)
Lucifer: I'm caught up! I'm so glad for the ability to skip ahead past awkward stuff. Anyway, the show's better than expected, and I have never seen a show give me a better set-up for a femmeslash OT4 than last week's episode (2x04) did.
Class (the doctor who spin off show): Got like 15 minutes into the first episode, BUT I SHALL TRY AGAIN. *is so bad at watching tv, oh my god*
