gonna change you like a remix

  • I have watched the first episode of Teen Wolf! I started a Teen Wolf/Les Mis xover and figured I really should actually watch some of the canon wtf. So I have started! We shall see how long I last. (Probably not very, I am bad at watching stuff.)
  • Today I clipped my nails for the first time! Necessary backstory, um, I've been biting them for a while. A long while. And I have tried basically everything to try to stop, but the last time was kind of high school and the like. And ffs, I need to stop doing this. So I am trying to stop through sheer force of will. Well, mostly, trying to identify the behavior and consciously stop it. And it's annoying, because you can succeed for a week, but one failure will set you goddamn back. So it's a long slow process. I bought nail clippers and have been stymied before in trying to use it (you have not failed at anything until you have been beaten by nail clippers). But today I got it to work, go me!
  • And yesterday I wore a bra for the first time in a really long time. I hate bras. A lot. But in the process of CLEAN ALL OF THE THINGS, I finally got around to my bras. I got rid of a bunch of them and the ones I kept all fit me. YET DESPITE THEM FITTING ME, THEY ARE REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. I had to run a quick errand, so I figured, this might be a good time to test drive this. I was wearing a bra for all of maybe 10 minutes and my god, I felt those ten minutes. (The last time I wore a bra was probably the last time I went to a gym, so it's been a while. Usually I wear a tank top that has a built in bra thing as a bra and it's so comfortable.) I was gonna say I'll try to winnow the bras down until I find one that isn't uncomfortable, then remembered I am talking about bras, so what am I saying. You move your body at all, you feel it. I should be grateful I can do things like breathe easily and eat while wearing them, unlike before the reduction.
  • I continue to be cleaning all of the things. The next step is getting all of the clothes I don't wear out of my closet so I can put the clothes I do wear into it. And also go through my bookshelf, which is going to be more painful. I have been slowly doing that for a while, but, you know, books. I should dump a lot more in the donate pile, but. But. BUT IT'S THE X-WING SERIES. "But you haven't touched it in years." SHUT UP, IT'S THE X-WING SERIES. "So does that mean you're going to be rereading it?" UM. "Donate pile. Now." NOPE.
  • I also really need to do something about my yarn stash. As in, knit it. *stares at it*
  • Oh, and, I have a new phone! It's a Samsung Galaxy Relay. The problem with the Slide was that the screen kept freezing in the off or just refusing to turn on in the first place, which meant I couldn't do things like answer calls, or even turn the phone off. I kept having to do a ton of hard reboots in a row, hoping that this time, the screen would turn on. (It's not hyperbole to say I spent ten minutes taking the battery out and putting it back in again). This was a problem, so I went on ebay and got a new phone and I have now rooted it and almost finished moving everything over. I had, foolishly, hoped that just by rooting it, it would be easy to get rid of the pre-installed bloatware that so plagued me with the Slide (I kept having space issues that I would not be having if I could just uninstall all the crap). But I guess it is not that easy, and I am trying to find a free app that will let me uninstall system applications. (Free because if it doesn't work, I'm not out money. But if I pay for it and it doesn't work, I'll be pissed. I'm willing to pay if I had a guarantee it would work). I also need to find out the easy way to switch between apps, it does seem to be "hold the home button down for a while", which is much slower than the Slide, which had "recent apps" in the notifications things, so you could get it quickly.

But anyway. New phone! It has a much nicer keyboard and consumer reports likes it. It's a 5 row qwerty *drools*. So now I can go back to writing fic on the phone! Since I couldn't open the Slide keyboard without the screen freezing for the last month, I've been having to use the swipe keyboard to type, which is a pain in the ass.
  • It's so fucking hot and humid. I just want that on the record.
  • Was there something else? Oh, right, I bought a new laptop, too, because ffs. It's pretty and shiny and stuff. Yay.
