[Vorkosigan] Sunday Six
At some point last week, I was lying awake in bed and contemplating my life choices and I was like, it would really cap off my year of people being related if I did one where Jole was Aral's bastard son, and then I told myself sternly that I was not allowed to do that until I had finished the one where Methos is Joe's stepdad, and I poked at that one and made not much progress, and so anyway, here is Padma's point of view on Secret Twins, because sometimes I'm like "there is a subtle thing in this fic" and then later I'm like "how about I be less subtle", and this is less subtle about Padma being one of Serg's victims, too, so we'll see if the echoes of the AU - Related vibrate outward and I lose interest in having Jole be Aral's bastard even though, lol, it'd be hilarious. It would be really mean to do to Miles, though. Poor Miles.
Ivan sits on the floor and plays with his toys and Padma knows they're cousins. He doesn't need to ask. They're both not-quite members of House Vorbarra. Their claims are tenuous. Their claims are also real.
Padma looks at Ivan and thinks, I need to protect this boy if it kills me.
