Because keeping a running post of these for very long periods of time is just unnecessary and I should post it more often... :P
- Travel Man: This is one that I've forgotten to put in previous watch posts. Richard Ayoade and a guest go traveling for a two-day vacation. Some episodes are better than others, but generally entertaining overall. As per usual for me, I am often distracted by figuring out where the camera operators are/how they are getting various shots.
- Brooklyn 99: I really wish I could say that I wasn't fast-forwarding through large portions of the show due to embarrassment and awkward stuff, but I can't. I can, however, say that I've lasted much longer fast-forwarding-B99 than I did fast-forwarding-Modern-Family. Even at its worst, B99 is not "I cannot stand Phil, why is he on this show, why is he on so much of this show". At least I like all the main characters!
- QI: Sandi Toksvig is so good. :D
- Baby Driver: an actual movie! An actual fictional creation! Amazing cinematography. If all movies were shot this interestingly, I might actually watch more of them. :p I was watching it while eating dinner and kept not wanting to look down because I wanted to see what was going on the screen! This never happens to me. Ever. (Baby was just walking down the street! Surely that should be nomming time? NOPE. That is character-building time!) Seriously, I finished it in a night. A night! Not a week! A night! (My impression is that all Edgar Wright movies are similarly and famously Very Interesting To Look At, but omg, it really was amazing and so refreshing.) Also I adored the ending. Also also, this is clearly some kind of continuation of the Usual Suspects. The bit with Doc in the elevator near the end was the most Verbal Kint thing I've ever seen.
Doubleplusgood, I recommend.
Also other things I'm regularly watching, which are newsy and not episodic and whatever: the Rachel Maddow Show, the Daily Show, the Late Show, and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Featuring as always me very often skipping the interviews because meh.
Also, possibly the more amusing list, here's an off-the-cuff run down of Shows I Am No Longer Watching And Why, in a very off-the-cuff "oh god I have nothing to watch, what do I want to watch, oh right, not these" looking-over-the-folders way:
- Scraps: lost me forever on the episode where they spend 5 minutes (in a 20 minute episode) on foraging, which is highly local and they admit that, and completely brush over, don't spend any time on at all other than saying they did it, on something involving strawberry tops. The voiceover at the beginning says "these are things people have!" and, like, yes, strawberry tops are things people have, yes. Wouldn't it be nice to see what could be done with them? Hmm, I wonder what a show like that would be called? Perhaps Scraps?
- Lucifer: Got very very heteronormative family stuff for the actual Devil wtf.
- Dirk Gently: This is probably cheating since I do Still Intend to watch season 2, but the last 5 minutes of season 1 were everything in the world that I hate, so, I'm not all that eager to spend my time on this?
