My harvest has come! Today I got an email from Kevin Calhoun saying that he wanted me to be an actor on a comedy show he is producing. He is the same guy that is producing the Christian sitcom I auditioned for and he remembered my audition and wanted me for the show! PRAISE GOD!
Now today (I let the journal window stay open overnight and am finishing this testimony now at 2pm Sunday the 26th), let me tell it like this... At about 1:45am, I went to bed listening to the Word (day 4 of the finance 2006 convention). Although Sandy had set the alarm on her phone for 4am, I decided to also set my regular alarm clock for 4am. Neither alarm went off. Sandy's flight was scheduled to leave at 6:10am. We both woke up at 6:52am. No problem, we've been in the Word all week and we trust God. We're surprised neither clock went off, but well rested and unafraid.
Sandy calls the airline and they tell her the flight has been delayed until 8-something. Great! We put on our shoes and gather our stuff to go (we slept dressed). I'm taking a little longer b/c God is speaking to me, but Sandy is patient and doesn't rush me. Last night He told me not to look at the weather report, so I didn't. A friend called and tried to give one to me saying it would be 20 below, but I wouldn't receive it. He told me to put on a light jacket. I hesitated for a min., but I trust God and obey Him, so I did it. Then He told me to gather together my Bible study stuff and take it, so I did. We left the room and got on the elevator and wouldn't you know it didn't want to let us off! The door wouldn't open and it would go up and down without stopping. Well, we tried all the earthly things we knew how to do. We banged on the door and called out for people. No one came. We kept ringing the alarm. As far as I know no one heard. We flipped the switch to stop, and it stopped, but when we turned it back it went right back doing the same thing and not letting us off. I even had what I thought was a genius idea to stop the elevator at it's highest point to get a phone signal to call a friend (Brynne). Her internet was out so she couldn't get a phone # to call anyone who could help us. When all of the worldly things didn't work, I remembered God and what I was supposed to do. I spoke to the door, had faith in my words, and it opened. I used my Biblical knowledge that when you speak to things with the authority over the earth God has given you, they have to obey.
So, we got off the elevator at the 3rd floor took the stairs. Driving was fine. We didn't have any traffic or get lost, and the day was sunny and nice. But, when I got Sandy there, the people where she checks her bags were trying to say the plane had already left and that she would have to get on the next one leaving at 12:53 pm and had to pay $90-something in fees and price differences. After explaining to them the conversation had on the phone this morning about the delay of the flight, they pulled up the phone record attached to her confirmation # and the only thing listed was yesterday's phone call asking about changing the flight to 12:53pm (the lady didn't ask for her confirmation # this morning). So now it looks like she missed the flight on purpose and is trying to get on the 12:53pm flight without being charged. I'm on the phone in the car b/c something told me not to leave right off and then I noticed that Sandy still had my directions, so I called her and told her to bring them back after she checked her bags. I'd been telling her all this time to be committed and stay the same no matter what the circumstances look like. Now I tell her to go get the supervisor. She hangs up from me to do so. So I'm speaking with faith that the people will be nice to Sandy and that she'll get on her flight without having to pay more, get an upgrade, and get a free flight. And also praising God b/c He knew to send Sandy in there and not me b/c Sandy is patient and kindness goes a long way and I didn't know if I would've been kind or not.
It doesn't take long b4 she calls me back and tells me that it's all straightened out, the supervisor was nice, and they put her on the 12:53pm plane. So I'm glad and praise God and tell her something about faith b/c everytime a real-life situation shows up, I tell her about something from the Bible or something we've learned in church. And she walks to her terminal and finds out that the 6:10am flight has not left! It was delayed and was scheduled at that time to leave at 11am. After all that the people at baggage check were saying and trying to get her to pay, the plane hadn't even arrived there yet, no less left!
It's about 8:30am now and I know Sandy is inside, baggage checked, and at her terminal, but the Spirit of God is telling me not to leave yet (I heard 9am). I wasn't quite sure what to do, but I knew if I left then I wouldn't feel right and I knew that when I got home I would be bored, not knowing what to do. I wrote some in my spirtiual/gratitude journal and called Sandy back. I didn't know what to say to her, I just knew not to leave yet, so I asked her if she could think of anything she had forgotten or left. We're both trying to think of things and she had just enough time to go to the bathroom and get some breakfast b4 the plane came (at around 9am!). I was talking to her while she was on the plane at around 9:30 and she told me when the plane finished boarding she had a seat to herself. They started making announcements and I could hear them say that passengers could redeem their ticket voucher using the same confirmation # as for this flight. I was like "I KNEW IT!" I know Sandy was probably like 'she is loud up in my ear', but I told her that while she was talking to the supervisor I was saying that she would get on the plane for free, get an upgrade, and get a free trip. After the made the announcement about turning off the phones, I got off the phone with her so she could call mom and tell her what time to pick her up.
I still didn't feel right to leave right then, so I stayed in the car and praised and reverenced God for all the GOOD things He had done and after a few min. I called mom. She told me Sandy was able to call her and she was able to make it to church this morning. I talked to Grandaddy and wished him a happy birthday. I talked to Gram for a min. and told her she had something coming by way of Sandy (her Christmas gift). Then I talked to Shari and she let me know the book I had got her came and I told her to expect more. When I hung up with them, then I felt free to leave. So I went home and there was no traffic or problems and I got to Hempstead in time to get breakfast at McDonald's and even got have in time to take a shower b4 the 11am service came on. PRAISE GOD!
-
All blessings start with a seed, and I sowed a significant seed when I used the money I found to do good things for others (buying Shari and Quan Bible books and the Bible on DVD)
-
Although you are promised a harvest on what you sow, you need to show faith and patience to get any promise from God. (Hebrews 6:12)
-
We had faith, we had been in the Word long enough to believe it for everything we needed today (as you always will be b/c God won't let you be challenged any more than you have the power to overcome). I believe it was no coincidence that World Changers was having a prosperity convention the week Sandy was here.
-
My patience was shown in several ways:
-
The fact that me and Sandy did not get angry or afraid whenever what seemed like it would be a problem arised. She showed faith and patience like me and had peace and confidence throughout the whole test --> We have truly passed and graduated to another level!
-
The fact that I waited in the car for two hours showed patience
-
In Detroit you can't stay in the drop-off area at the airport. But I set my will from the beginning to obey God and no one bothered me.
-
It gave me time to pray and stay updated on Sandy's situation and encourage her
-
It allowed me free parking, close to the building, and the ability to see Sandy off even though I couldn't go inside and wait with her
