I swear I will post more when I am more regularly at a computer. But frankly, it seems like most of my time is spent on my iPhone where the idea of typing an entry is completely hideous.
But... I got a new job and will be starting it the day I get back from DragonCon. I'll be doing Help Desk work at Hopkins' Bloomberg School of Public Health. It will pay more than I make now, less than I made at AABB, but starts at more than I started at there. So I won't complain. It will be very nice to be able to start saving again. Living paycheck to paycheck sucks, and I was really disappointed by how quickly my savings went POOF as did my feeling of being an adult.
Somehow I have managed to scramble and get enough money to pay for Dragon this year, so that's good. And since I'm too fat to have any desire to buy clothes or costumes, hopefully I will come out rather cheaply. We're not renting a car, so that's some savings, and our rooms are at con rate. Obviously I'll be eating and drinking, but that's all doable.
Derby-wise I have been taking it easy. Probably a little too easy. I've gained another 10 lbs, stopped doing any extra exercise, and make it to one practice a week. I'm not bouting this month, so I'm not broken up about it, but I'll need to get myself together for next month.
There are about a million concerts coming up that I'm excited about... Apop, KMFDM, Placebo, Moby, Imperative Reaction, definitely a couple more that I can't think of right now. Apop is the biggy, and I will be kicking off my vacation by going to that show. I'm so excited!
Jill is now living in B'more which is nice. We went to Busch Gardens on Sunday and rode the Big Bad Wolf for the last time. :-( Really one of my very favorite roller coasters, so I'm quite sad to see it go. But very glad that we were able to squeeze in a trip this month before it is gone for good. With our crazy work schedules we didn't have a chance to make our Ridiculous Roadtrip - hitting 3 completely absurd theme parks (Action Park in Jersey, Dinosaur Kingdom in VA, and Dollywood in TN), and I don't anticipate any vacations with the new job for awhile.
Alright, bed for me. I miss you LJ!
