Welp, this place has been dead for too long. Hopefully that will change. ;D Here's our second activity which should of gone up months ago but we were holding the icons hostage. Also keep a look out for our third activity coming up! ;3
Yes, that is what we are. For the second activity the flavors were asked to recommend something they love to you, the watchers of lanieveria. They were told to sell the series to you using the following trope guidelines: a trope that captures the ~essence~ of the subject's set, a trope that describes the protagonist, a spectacle trope, a universal trope, plus 2-6 (different) tropes of their choice. The following are the results. LOVE THESE THINGS AS MUCH AS THEY DO. CHECK 'EM OUT. LOVE THEM. ICON THEM. At the end of the day this is just a ploy to get people into fandoms we like so more people can icon them. Yes, that was always the plan. Each iconner provided an explanation to their tropes which is under each corresponding set. Check everything out yo~
[Tropes]Screw Destiny: The entire game is about this. Starting in a subjective way then to consolidate itself as a central theme. Badass Bookworm: Shulk the protagonist begins like one. It's cute. Scenery Porn: The entire game is about this, take 2. Even with the Wii graphics the game is a piece of art. Chekhov's Gun: Oh boy You never expect him to appear since he is vaguely mentioned near the beginning of the game... Wrong. Childhood Friend Romance: Shulk and Fiora is just the cutest Childhood Friend Romance couple ever. /fangirls Winged Humanoid: The High Entia is an entire race of Winged Humanoid Lethal Joke Character: Riki the Heropon aka the mascot. One of the best characters. Really. Black Magician Girl: Melia fits everything in this trope. Mechanical Lifeforms: The Machina people is an entire race... Of this. Crazy Awesome: With bits of McNinja and lots of British Accents. Better Than It Sounds.
[Tropes]Hooker with a Heart of Gold: So Worick is a man ho in the series but despite that he's often kind (especially to the ladees) and he loves Nicolas like monkeys love yellow things. Badass: The series starts with the two main characters killing a prostitute's pimp and then hiring her as their secretary. Can't think of anything more badass than that. One is a gigolo who kills people on the side and the other is a strangely powerful twilight super soldier. Showy Invincible Hero: Nicolas, of course. He's deaf but that doesn't stop him from stabbing anything in sight. Everybody Remembers The Stripper: See Worick semi nude. See Worick's abs. Go Worick's abs go! Stoic Spectacles: He has teh needles and is not afraid to poke you in the eye. Sociopathic Hero: This applies to both but Worick hides it better. Nicolas seems merely curious about the pain he causes and isn't afraid to kill anyone of any age. Sexy Secretary: Alex! Oh Alex. She's just mostly there. Only sometimes she goes crazy and that's interesting. >_> Long Haired Pretty Boy: The little ribbon kills me. Dark And Troubled Past: The way Worick and Nicolas meet is key to understanding their partnership. Between the two Nicolas is more mysterious. We get parts of how they meet and how Worick is injured in bits and pieces. More in the latest chapters than ever before.
[Tropes]Ghibli Hills (Howl's Moving Castle): the trope that captures the essense of my subject! Plucky Girl (Laputa: Castle in the Sky): protagonist trope. ALL the girls of studio ghibli <3 Awesome Art (Kiki's Delivery Service): the spectacle trope. Another excuse to icon gorgeous scenery :D Chekhov's Gun (Spirited Away): the universal trope; the medicine from the river god. Action Girl (Princess Mononoke): Possibly the best representation of all the Ghibli girls. I tried to show that in this cap as she's wearing her badass outfit and riding one of the Wolf gods. Cute Witch (Kiki's Delivery Service) Flight of Romance (Howl's Moving Castle): How Howl and Sophie met. I Will Protect Her (The Borrower Arrietty)
[Tropes]Conveniently an Orphan: The Heroine, Mahiru, was orphaned from a young age. She lives with her aunt. Lovable Rouge: Mahiru meets up with a bunch of guys who need to steal the "teardrops of the moon". Lunacy: All of those adorable bisshies? Well, they're actually members of "the Lunar Race". The cast includes a tengu, a vampire, a kitsune, and a warewolf. Secret Legacy: Mahiru has a reoccuring dream about a beautiful princess and a demon. It turns out that the princess is her great grandmother and she's inherited special powers that are the reason the Lunar Race needs her. Transformation Sequence: The Lunar Race need to activate their power. In this scene they use special paper to release their abilities. Cutting or ripping the paper after folding it into origami versions of their true form activates it. I did Mitsuru's transformation here, but I think Nozumo's is the coolest. Beautiful All Along: Misoka's human form is a little less then awesome. He's the short megane character with the brains, but nothing to look at. And then he transforms into this gorgeous kitsune... wow, who knew?
[Tropes]Screw Destiny: This whole series is about fucking destiny over tbh but I feel like Ringo is the epitome of this. We'll leave at this: she tries to change things. Red Oni, Blue Oni: Kanba = red, Shouma = blue. :3 Transformation Sequence: lolololololol Lethal Diagnosis: HIMARI IS GOING TO DIIIIIEEEE DUE TO SOME UNKNOW INCURABLE DISEASE. All Love Is Unrequited: lolol this series is full of unrequited love but tbh it would ruin all the fun to tell you about it. Instead we'll talk about the ultimate shoujo destiny otp: Tabuki & Ringo. They are da best. ;c How Do You Like Them Apples?: EVERYTHING IN THIS SERIES REVOLVES AROUND APPLES. CURRY, DESTINY, SHARING FRUITS OF FATE, CURRY AGAIN, LIVES, METAPHORS, ETC. Mood Whiplash: WELP. THIS SCENE. It Was With You All Along: ; A ; Red String of Fate: DESTINYYYYYY~~~~ Scenery Porn: ADHJSJBFHJ THE BACKGROUNDS IN THIS SERIES IDE. LIKE THEIR HOUSE? W H A T.
