There’s a drop of wine on the tip of my tongue-
Red like the blood slipping through my palms.
A half empty cup to my left, half full bottle to my right .
Somewhat sweet,
But burns bitter down my throat.
Tasting, tasting, yet tasting nothing at all,
Like water, yes like water.
A necessity, yes.
I need it to live.
There’s a drop of water on the edge of your cheek-
Clear like the words forming through your mind
A door to my left, a window to my right
Easy flight,
But leaves fire in my lungs.
Thirsty, thirsty, yet not thirsty at all,
I’m parched, yes I’m parched.
A necessity, yes.
I need it to live.
