Ricky, bobby, ricky, bobby.
Its been a minute since I've updated and I figured since I have a free minute I should fill people in on what I've been up to. Not that anyone really reads this anymore, and both my Facebook and Twitter pretty much tell the story of my life BUT I'm determined to keep this going so whatever.
-Summer school has started and so far its not TOO bad. We haven't really done much in English 222, which is my tutoring class. We've read a few articles and have discussed feminism and racism, but besides that things are yet to get cracking. Tomorrow is my first day actually tutoring but seeing as its been super slow so far I have a feeling I may not end up doing anything but managing the front desk for the first hour and reading a book to myself the second hour. Which is more than fine with me. The Writing Center is such a nice place and luckily its always the perfect temperature in there as well. Outside is WAY too hot for me to handle and some of the other buildings/classrooms at UIC are FREEZING. Next week though things are going to get hectic because a group of students fresh out of HS, trying to get into English 160 and 161 are coming, and from there on out its going to be non-stop work. As for my History of Television class, its pretty interesting but SO LONG. I go from 10:45-1:15 with like a 5 minute (though its supposed to be 10) break and I just can't keep my concentration on point for that long. But the subject matter itself is pretty cool so at least I'm not totally bored. Theres a lot of reading though so I have to make sure to stay on top of that or I can see myself getting really behind really fast. All in all summer school is tiring but its not too bad. I think I need to give it a little more time before I can really judge it anyways.
-I really like the fact that this summer is full of concerts. So far I've gone to the BBash and Trey Songz (which was last night). I will hopefully be going to the Fray on the 28th, and then to see Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson at the Taste on the 1st. I'm supposed to be going to Blink182 later in August as well but we'll see if those plans fall through or not. Either way I've been having a good deal of fun among taking classes so I'm satisfied. I haven't been seeing too many people though, but I actually don't mind. I figure the people I'm hanging out with are the ones I'm with for a reason so whatever. I can't believe its already almost July though. Where did time go?
-As usual I can't stop shopping, but I don't think that surprises anyone. Thankfully I haven't gotten to the point where I have no money in my bank account but I'm afraid if someone doesn't stop me soon I'm going to be in trouble as the summer goes on. Its not even that I'm spending a lot at a time, but the little purchases here and there add up like you couldn't believe.
-I really need my highlights redone. As well as to go to the dermatologist and the eye doctor. I need to start making appointments and stop just talking about the fact that they need to be made. Real talk.
I'm sure I have lots more pointless shit to say and bring up but right now I'm going to do some reading before dinner and "America's Got Talent" (which I'm sad to say will now include Nick Cannon. And to think I used to love him...Ew. Just ew). I'll try and update more often though. I gotta remember about this when I hit up my Twitter and FB. Xoxo.
