(no subject)
i just spent several hours at the library. i didnt get a single thing i had intended to find, because i kept getting distracted by books and i ended up browsing through random sections. i find it more interesting to randomly find a book than search for one because they have a complicated categorization system. i found some self help books (i swear, they have like a dozen different parts of the library filled with them! business/investment books too). some religious books. i found a whole section on folktales and fairy tales and enchantments... exactly what i HAD been looking for on previous occassions but was never able to find. so that was cool. but i only got one book that analyzes modern fairy tales. i flipped through it and found a line that said "fairy tales are a textually transmitted disease". it was funny. i found an entire section on etiquette. i got a hilarious (well it's meant to be serious, but i found it humorous) book on how to conform to societal standards in the US and Canada. and i found a dictionary section... with a reverse dictionary! the greatest kind of dictionary ever created =)
i finally made it to the feminism section when the library was closing.. so i just grabbed one book called "goddess". i think it's a fictional work. do any of you know about it?
