oh man i love san francisco, wanna hear a funny story (or two)?
am walking up divisadero, and i see a one of those public notices taped to a light pole. you know what it is? turns out there's a gang in the area, and the locals don't approve too much, so the city council posted a notice letting the gang know that if they can show due cause to remain a gang by filling appropriate paperwork, then the police won't issue an injunction against them. this is brilliant, maybe nobody else appreciates the awesomeness of this, but i sure do.
in other news, was walking around green apple on clement (also today), when the street was spontaneously overtaken by chinese dragon dancers. sort of like chinese new year's, with firecrackers and drums and all. but in the middle of august :P
picked up a ticket to a rave on the 11th, but i still have no idea where it is. neither the ticket, the flier, nor the phone number say. will check the 'official myspace' soon. looks like things like this don't go public on the location til the day of. not sure if that's awesome or sketchy :/
got an e-mail from Sea Shepherd a few days ago, looks like they're setting sail in november and hitting up iceland. that being too soon for me, (it's a bit too late to cancel on the semester), i'll get my radio license and join EMT and try to go on the next voyage. <3 saving whales.
