"The biggest surprise for me in living in Russia was finding out how nice Russians can be to their friends. Before coming to work at Language Link in 2001 I worked with private students. The very first students I had in Moscow 12 years ago have become my best friends here. I taught them for 3 years. I did the lessons in their home. At each lesson they would have a cake for me and my favorite candy. Sometimes their mother would cook me a nice dinner. Over the years they would take me sightseeing around Moscow and we would often have dinner at a nice restaurant. Then 3 years ago when I needed a place to live they insisted that I come to live in their flat with their family. So I have been living in their flat for the last three years. And eating momma's delicious home cooking!!!!"
