So yesterday I heard on the radio about Iranian attack boats zooming up to American warships in the Strait of Hormuz, having a testy radio exchange, and then backing off before the US Navy fired a shot.
The US has released a video of the incident, which includes an audio exchange (not synched with any video) of an Iranian naval officer making some threatening statements involving the word "explode".
Iran, for its part, denies that the incident was any big deal and has released another, much less heated,
video.
Hooman Majd says he doesn't think the US version of the radio exchange is plausible, because the Iranian accent sounds fake!
Interesting point: the "attack boats" don't have visible weapons.
