Final Fantasy 7: The Advent Children review.
It's pretty. Very, very pretty. I really can't comment that much on story, as the version I saw was not subbed. But, the action scenes were very well done, and they ALMOST give Cloud depth and personality.
Seriously people, do not see this movie for Cloud and Sephiroth.
See it for VIncent and Rufus.
Rufus suprised the fuck out of me. He is fucking awesome in the movie.
Rude and Reno were, predictably, the comedic relief. Did a pretty good job with it.
They didn't go too deeply into Yazoo and Loz, but they did pretty well with Kadaj. Even if his obsession with Jenova is greater than Sephiroth's.
The supporting cast (Barret, Cid, Yuffie, Cait Sith, Red XII) were okay, they didn't get as much time as Vincent, Cloud, or Tifa. But, Red kicked ass. HIs VA suprised me.
Speaking of VA, this is the first time I can seriously say that I didn't agree with some japanese VAs. (Red's, Sephiroth's was a bit too deep, same with Yazoo's.)
Here's a WTF moment that isn't a spoiler. Tseng. Why the hell is Tseng back? Shouldn't he be in miniscule pieces with the rest of the Temple of the Ancients? I have a few more WTF moments, but they are spoilers. >.>
