So, it snowed last night.

And it was absolutely beautiful.

It was still falling at 2:00 this (yesterday?) morning, and I was still awake and I went outside to take pictures. It was largely untouched, clean, and soft. There are at least two inches on the ground. The world gets all soft and quiet when it snows; there was no one around and everything was so peaceful.

Spanish House, Smith and Younker. I have a weird relationship with it now. At home, snow would be few and far between, so every time it would happen, I'd get really excited and it was like time had stopped and I would do anything and everything to savor it. I was always so sad/mad that there wasn't more. Now, that I'm in a place where it happens more often and my life is so different, it's like I don't have that sense of urgency to run out and take advantage of it immediately. Which, in a way, is nice. But I don't want to ignore it, either, you know? I don't ever want to take it for granted.

Park Sreet. I was telling Amy and Amanda tonight that if I have to go to school in a barren wasteland in the middle of nowhere where there are barely any trees or sun or warm weather, I'm glad that this is one thing I do get to have.

But this showing up on my task bar:

is NEVER okay.

There's also a prospie from H-B here this weekend!

snow, grinnell
