Mr. Fluffy
Well, I took Fluffy to be drugged and shaved Wednesday. :P He's a picture of him post surgery:
Those pizza boxes are his new favorite place to sleep. He seems to like the light/warmth of the exhaust light. I don't cook, so. :P The vet said it probably gives him comfort.
The news wasn't good. The x-rays showed the tumor has invaded his jaw bone so there was no way she could remove it without causing more harm than good. Actually, she said that the tumor itself is probably all that's even giving that side of his face any structure at this point. He's also already lost all of his teeth on that side, which I didn't know, so it's definitely not an abscessed tooth. She still took a biopsy and we're awaiting the results. I guess all we're going to learn is whether or not it's malignant, although, the vet said we'd also know exactly what we're dealing with since there's a small chance it could be something freakish that's not cancer.
Regardless, Fluffy is in otherwise good health. The vet always comments on what a nice coat he has. He's still affectionate and still eating. I heard from the vet and the techs that Fluffy had touched everyone's heart in the office. Apparently he was quite chatty when he came out of sedation and very affectionate towards anyone who stopped to give him attention (which I heard was everyone since they couldn't ignore the talkative cat). Sounds like typical Fluffy. :)
So, we're keeping an eye on him for any changes in behavior. Otherwise, he mostly has just been sleeping a LOT.
