Allie Story
I just spent way too much time compiling an Allie time line. 52 pictures total, so NOT dial-up friendly. :P
The time line illustrates finding Allie, giving her a home, the battle of getting her in a healthy state, and seeing the benefits of all our hard work. When we found Allie as a stray it was a terrible sight. She had bald patches, irritated and scabbed skin, and she was obviously starving. After deciding to feed her and take her into our home the vet informed us that Allie has allergies. Trying to find a solution was exhausting, expensive, and required many vet visits. After trying different medications (including prescription food, antihistamines, steroids (both pills and injections), antibiotics) we were having little success so our main vet referred us to a dermatologist. Now Allie is on a trial medication normally used on dogs (not yet FDA approved for cats) to help with her allergies. She takes her pill every other day, and it has worked miracles. Now she is healthy, happy, and the perfect house cat. Jeff and I love her so much. She is funny, cuddly, and cute. It wasn't always easy, and there were times we wanted to give up, but it has been worth all the time and money devoted to finding something that works. Now I just enjoy every day I get to spend with her! :)
07/20/09: The first time we fed her. As you can tell, her coat was very patchy. Initially we thought she had fleas, but it turns out she was experiencing allergies
07/20/09: That night I got Allie to follow me home. We gave her food and a place to sleep on our porch. She would come every night to sleep and eat there.

07/23/09: This is the second time we let her stay in our apartment for an extended period of time.

09/02/09: Allie loves bags. We actually save large bags and boxes so Allie can play with them for about a week before we throw them out.

09/26/09: Emergency vet visit that cost a fortune. Allie had stopped eating, wouldn't move, and kept coughing (turned out to be allergy related asthma). All of these symptoms started when I was in Reno visiting Julie, and the day I returned we had to take her to the vet. This picture is cute because on the trip we wanted her to be comfortable so we put her favorite towel in her cat carrier, and when we arrived at the vet she got scared and hid under it. Awww, my poor bb kitty.

10/09/09: Vet visit 4?.. Lol.
10/12/09: vet visit 5(?) to a specialized cat dermatologist.
10/12/09: I thought it'd be hilarious to make Allie her own Twitter. This only lasted a day (not as funny as I thought), but this picture is Allie meowing on my desk with her Twitter page pulled up in the background, haha. Aw.
10/21/09: Loving her bag.
10/23/09: Paw over the eye... Too cute.
10/30/09: PAWS!!
11/10/09: She got a pink band-aid after a vet visit (I've lost track of how many vet visits Allie has had...6?). Our silly kitty stopped eating and drinking for 1-2 weeks... So it was off to the vet. Turns out she was just tired of her normal food... which we only discovered after we spending a couple hundred dollars on blood work. :P
11/15/09: Sooo cute. After I showered Allie walked in the bathtub, got her paws wet, walked around on the bathroom rug, and then laid down. :) Notice the kitty water prints.

11/16/09: Allie's actually sitting on me. I'm buried under the blankets asleep, haha.
