Boy, I'm so glad it's 2014! 2013 was entirely too long on a personal level for me. I'm looking forward to getting fit again and actually getting to ride my horse this year :-) I have one last reconstruction surgery to get through and then I can close the breast cancer chapter of my life. It leaves me a different person, both emotionally and physically, of course, forevermore, but it will be done and I can move forward in 2014 with a sense of forging ahead. Yay!
My Tally, in the icon, is fat, fat, fat. Everyone has always been, 'oh, I want to ride her', but when it came down to me actually needing peeps to ride her, that didn't happen. She's not as easy as she looks and maintaining a horse at Second and the start of Third is not as easy as it seems, so Tally-girl has basically had an entire year off with a hack or longe line here and there. Since she's coming eighteen this year, I really hope I can bring her back, but we'll see. I'm not holding my breath :-)
My hubby was a rock after a little initial fumbling over my health this year. My oldest went off to college and my youngest started high school. Big transitions this year. We lost only my beloved guinea pig, which was good, I couldn't have handled much else. I miss her terribly since she lived in my office, which I have to walk through to get to my bedroom. So, on top of missing her while I work and missing her weeting and chewing celery at night, after four months I STILL glance over in the direction of where her cage sat EVERY time I walk through to check on her. She was seven. But, I still have my sixteen year old Aussie with me and my younger Aussie cross is becoming a real and actual adult dog who listens :-)
I'm still throwing short stories out to the market. Sold two for good money. Won a national award for a story published in 2010. Sped through my book with my critique group in the middle of the spring to the 200 page mark, but didn't go back to group until November. We're picking up at page 207 in a couple of weeks. I didn't re-write on the rest much because I simply couldn't focus. Put my fanfics at AO3, finally :-) Didn't write much fanfic (see previous sentence), just two, both Five-0.
