The Lion Is Subdued

Oct 27, 2003 22:20

What you've got - you give - is filling me,
collapsing moments to silent imagery,
fulfilling me till the last drops
and the sugar's flow stops
dripping, liquid, from your lips.

Our breathing meets to harmonize
and matches each to synchronize,
and all I can remember through our cries
is tomorrow morning's sunrise,
crashing through my window.

The stroking of your velvet skin gloves
mends the stigma of a thousand loves
and formulates a future
that can be, in itself, a cure
for the mangled past.

Every seam sewn into place,
and as I contemplate your face,
the lion greedily starts its chase,
but I simply subdue it's pace,
and you never even knew it was you.
