Well, that was fun. Whoever said that making ensigns run fifty laps around the gym wasn't entertaining, has never witnessed it. I swear that half of them were actually enjoying it, while the other half are plotting my early demise. I guess that'll teach them not to slack off the next time I'm trying to teach them the proper form of a roundhouse kick, and actually listen to me. Starfleet relies too heavily on phasers, nowadays, and it's going to cause them to get hurt, but I heard the Captain and Helmsman Sulu are pretty good in a fist fight when they need to be. Maybe if I use them as examples, the ensigns'll stop looking at me as if I'm off my rocker, and actually try to learn how to properly punch someone.
