Well, this is interesting. I thought that I'd need a photo for my Illustration Painting class, but Jon has thrown me a surprise. He wants me to find a short quote from a story or magazine to illustrate. So I get to pull stuff out of my head based on what I read! SHOCK!
I'm either going to use a passage from "Dave Barry Hits Below the Beltway" about taking advantage of your congressperson's office, or a passage from "The Dog of Flanders" of when Nello finally gets to see Rubens' paintings. I've gotta work on sketches for now. Hmm...
Oh yeah, yesterday I went to a reception at local artist Randall Higdon's studio in my hometown. He knows my mom, but he hasn't gotten down my name yet. ("YET" MWAHAHAHA) My dad went too, but we drove seperately. Randy does wonderful watercolor images of many of the lighthouses in Michigan, beach scenes, and other such local images. He's now starting to work in oils. He has these $12 signed prints, and I thought, "I should get one of these." Then I thought about all the food I could get for $12. Since I was hungry, the food won out. However, being that my dad likes to spoil me, he bought me one of the prints. XD It's of a sailboat on (I assume) Lake Michigan.
While we were there I noticed a woman looking at me. "Here goes," I thought, "someone knows me and I don't know them..." Well, that was half-true! She came up to me to talk.
"Are you Jamie"
"Yes."
"I had you in my first grade class!"
HOMG It was my first grade teacher Mrs. Brown. XD WTF I guess she's been taking classes at the art center so my mom has told her about me, but my mom was still surprised that Mrs. Brown was able to recognize me. I mean... dang, that was like... 16 years ago. I hope I don't look like I'm 7! XD
Hey, I won a free music tune for Radio Disney On-Line from my Lunchables lunch. I wonder what I can get that's worth listening to?
