Phase 14 Announcement
Hello Members,
Due to popular demand, I will be keeping three teams for the community. However, I just want to make it very clear that with the numbers, there won't be much of a competition anymore. Unfortunately, livejournal has become a site that people just don't want to visit as much. Which is a shame because the art that has spawned from this site has been incredible.
When I first took over this community way back in Phase 3, members were pouring in, but now the numbers of members that join are lower than the inactivity rate. Most of the new members, slowly die out. That seems to be the trend. The majority of the 'active' members are those that have been here for several phases. Why is this way? I have no idea. I can't speak for everyone else, but when I join a community, I go out of my way to participate so to have new members join, then do nothing and then get cut... it flabergasts me.
Anyways, my point is small teams means there will inevitably be smaller numbers of people who actually participate.
At this current moment, three members are going to be cut from Land of Art. One per team, gallaghers (pop art), raktajinos (renaissance) and kleinepfoetchen (steampunk). I also haven't heard from arctic_comet (pop art) and larmay but those two always eventually get back to me, so I am giving them leeway since they've been members since I joined back in Phase 2. If the three that I've mentioned above see this and want to stay, complete THIS poll. Otherwise, I will be cutting them before the phase begins.
Speaking of the new phase. When will it begin! So initially I wanted to start the phase in March but... I have a lot of other things (aka I'm writing too many fanfics to keep up with) going on right now so I don't have a lot of time to run a community. I am however participating in another community called lighthouse_the (team crew_land), when the challenge suits me, so if you want something extra, there you go. So I've decided the phase will start
Thursday April 2 and run until Wednesday July 8th.
As for challenges, we'll be sticking with the norm. I'll post 2-3 challenges a week, on top of the ever popular Hide & Seek challenge. I'll be using the remaining categories that were suggested last phase, this phase. So if you suggested something last phase, and it didn't get used, now it will. I'll be putting out a new Request It in the coming weeks, and probably a pre-challenge or two so keep an eye out for those.
