stress? over vacation?
I am going leafing and camping with Kate M this weekend. The State of New Hampshire has decided that you have to make camping reservations more than three days in advance, so we can't do that. I called the park and they said there shouldn't be a problem though. This is good. i want to see some leaveses and make fire. I love fire. and leaveses, and mountains. I am so very much looking forward to this. I miss nature, and all the cool stuff you can do. It will likely be very cold, so I am packing up many blankets, some of which are covered in binary, others of which are fleecy. Tentses and stoveses are being rented so we don't have to life out of the van, which would be boring and un-nature-y.
Last weekend was boston with Kate, and i had a good time. I came to realize I need to plan things out a little better. I'm too seat-of-pants at times, and I wasn't expecting Boston to overwhlem me like that. It never has before. We did the LOTR Motion Picture Trilogy exhibit at the MOS. Elrond's telescope was backwards, and we lost David many times. They had the COOLEST mapses on the wall in the gifty shop, but they weren't for sale. this made both kate and myself very sad. I was hoping for a more... Tolkien-y historical look, but it was very much a movie-selling-make-money thing. it was cool, but there were not enough elves, and too many orcses and men. We did a ton of walking. too much, probably, as my feet were on fire by the end of Saturday night. the yankees sucked it up big time, we were walking around fanueil hall, and playing in the zoinks! (yay legos!) while the Sox tied it up and then proceded to make the yanks look fuckin bad.
random tokens of advice:
trust the T maps. they're right most of the time.
the green line sucks nards. avoid it like the plague.
coffee, while tasty in the morning, is a bad idea at 8:15pm
don't live in florida. hurricanes much?
if someone is doing the fall asleep-wake up to not fall over-fall asleep thing in your car, stop, put back the seat and offer a stuffed cow or other fuzzy creature.
eat breakfast sandwitches at dunkin donuts, with coffee, and and and coffee.
D34DC0W is in the shop today. new rear tires, all new rear brakes and a tie rod. Ouch. Tie rods cause cars to become catapults when they fail, so it's good I am replacing it before it fails. Catapults are bad, especially when it's not just me in the car. First major work. Hopefully last for a while.
Yesterday was my birthday. Am 24. Went out to dinner with family and Anne. got cards from many people. yay olive garden.. soup much?!
