I feel like I should post more often on here.
But then I don't.
So here we are.
Maybe if I had a theme that would help. But then it might just become another responsibility to add to the nearly crushing pile of deadlines already present.
I gave a reading last night in Eunice, LA. I was asked by the faculty of LSU-Eunice, which is actually a 2 year institution. I expected a small crowd and polite tolerance at best. Instead, there was a full (packed--Tim couldn't even sit down) coffeehouse with one of the most attentive audiences I've ever had. Even the baristas were listening, and despite the warning that there'd be noise as drinks were prepped, the noise wasn't bad at all. And then after I finished what I think might be *the* Goth kid in Eunice came over and told me that I'm magical. To close out the evening, they held an open mic which was actually well-attended and contained some good pieces. It was what coffeehouses and open mics are supposed to be, but largely haven't been when I've gone to them lately. And I found it in Eunice, LA.
I still don't think I'd want to live there, but it was a fun visit.
