(no subject)
Time seems to be evading me lately! I'm shipped off to college and "living on my own" and all that shit. My roommate, as I've previously fangirled about, is awesome. She's super rad and we've been having a lot of fun doing everything together. It's been me, Emily, and Codie. I've met so many fucking people!! I meet people everywhere, and it's a lot of fun. First night, we went to the hookah bar, and it was fuckin' epic. The hookah bar is filled with black lights, and they hand out highlighters so you can draw on yourself and your friends and glow. The hookah was pretty fantastic, and because there were -thirteen- of us, we had four hookahs, and four flavors. Before hookah-ing, we tried to find food, but it being Sunday, we had to go to three different places (on foot, phew) to finally find a place open. (It was Thai, and it was pretty tasty. There were kitties around the porch~)
Since then, we've just been doing stuff, junk, and more shit, haha. Emily and I have bought some furniture--a coffee table--and plates--Corell, they'll last forever!!--and we've moved in our fridge (which is wood-finished and retro), and we have the TV set up, and everyone who walks in our room says, "It's so... homey!" and proceeds to complain about how plain and empty their rooms are. :D Which makes me and Em feel awesome. We love having a room that people like to be in.
The beds aren't very comfy, but I bought some egg crate, and that makes it more tolerable. I have my actual desktop set up and shit, but I'm still bumming around on my laptop, lol. Once school starts, I imagine my lappy will pretty much be for school work, and I'll go back to using my desktop (yay, it's not being usurped anymore!--not that I minded, Codie <3) for roleplaying, chatting, and gaming. Aside from that, I managed to fit all my anime into a managable space, we've already watched The Cat Returns, a sewing instructional VHS (HOLY JEBUS, EM HAS A SERGER), and Anastasia (again, on VHS; Em brought a VCR). I managed to drop the fucking XBOX the first night when we stayed at a hotel (before move-in), but it's perfectly fine, thank Eris. So Codie wowed some friends that were around by playing Portal for them, haha.
The dolls made it just fine. :3 I'm excited to have all this ME space to do shit with them in, and that Emily isn't weirded out by them. I found a little gift for Tan, Bladey, but I can't decide if I should add something to it or not. Write on my Wall or send me a message or just comment here for details. <3 I found said gift in a thrift store--one of tons in the "downtown square," which is actually just a walk from West Hall (my dorm hall). I also bought some wonderful antique jewelry, including a beautiful cameo pin. Codie pointed out a cool thrift shop called "Time Bandits" (as if that wasn't cool enough!!), and we went inside and found some cheap dresses that we're going to modify. Emily's a fashion design major, so we're hopping to do sew-y things.
Speaking of sew-y things: I have tickets to Anime Fest for me, Emily, and Codie all, so it'll be awesome to go. I'm excited!! I'll have to look up doll meets and shit--not that I really care. Running into other BJD owners is usually more fun.
But that's all I have to say for now--and it is quite a bit, for those of you who haven't caught me lately ;3--because I'm TIRED, and I -should- get up at 9:30 and go to a discussion session over The Bean Trees. Fabulous.
