We have two new cats in our house as of last night. They are two young strays my sister and her family in Falls Church found on their front porch. They held onto them for nine days but couldn't find an owner or anyone that wanted two cats. After wrestling with it my sister decided she couldn't keep them, so we stepped in to take them so they wouldn't have to go to a shelter.
We don't know for sure whether we'll keep them. We'll see how they get along with Anubie, our feisty tortie, after a vet visit and a bit of quarantine. If it doesn't seem to be working out we'll be trying to place them somewhere. Anubie has already expressed her displeasure at being shut out of the basement by whizzing on a towel on the floor rather than use the upstairs litter box. Hopefully she'll adapt as she's seemed a little lonely since Kif died over a year ago.
They seem to be about four to six months old, a bit old to be called kittens but certainly not full grown. One is all black and the other is mainly black with white patches. We've tentatively named them Delta and Echo since they're our 4th and 5th cats. They take a trip to the vets this afternoon for a check up and to confirm gender.
