Thank the Lord: I have a real word-processor at last. (even if I'm typing this up on Textedit, still. I don't want Textedit to get lonely after I put it through so much work, but I need a word counter for NaNoWriMo, and a real word-processor is just plain better anyway.) So what do I have? Well obviously.
Openoffice. Because it's free. I had to use someone else's broadband (shiiiineeey...) connection to download it, but now I have it on my computer! I finally have a real word processor again! Now I don't have to check my word-count by adding up the word-counts for each consecutive page (and if I'd ever lost the piece of paper they were written on, I would have freaked.) I thought it was fun, but I bet no-one else agrees with me. Anyway. I have a word processor. Look at all the cool things I can do:
I can check my word count by going into a menu! (It's 40,000 and counting, if you want to know-- woot!)
I can check my word count by setting a special shortcut to check my word-count! (Shift-command-W, if you give a damn.)
I can play with the fonts!
I can set the pages to appear on their own in a huge column, or in pairs, or three at a time, side by side!
I can change the zoom at which I view the page!
I can tell Autocorrect why it's wrong! (This I find funny: Openoffice thinks that “Openoffice” is a spelling mistake. It doesn't know its own name: aww bless.)
See? I have so many new ways to not write my NaNo novel now, without even having to go to a new program in the computer! This rules!
This is possibly the most important part of the post:
You just lost the game. See? Very, very important.
...Damn, I just lost too. T.T
