Prompt: In clearing our more rooms in the mansion. Sean comes across a real love potion, as a joke he sprays Hank. Soon everyone wants a piece of him, including Sean. Trying to escape the amorous affections and find a cure, Hank is surprised to find and unlikely ally in Alex, who seems unaffected. Love potions don't work if you're already in love with them. The cure could be a kiss from your true love. Love for the awkward escapes Hank has to do from his friends and even enemies.
It was Spring cleaning time, or rather clean out the mansion to make room for new mutants time. All the X-men were busily cleaning when Sean came across something interesting, "Oi Hank! Take a look at this!" Hank came over to see what Sean was going on about. Sean held up a small purple bottle with etchings along the base and a heart shaped handle. It contained a deep purple liquid and the word amatorium etched into it.
Hank frowned as he fingered the word lightly, "It's a love potion."
Sean was grinning wildly, "Oh yea? Like a real life one? That's wicked." Hank rolled his eyes and than began to walk away when an irritating smell came witting to his nose. He turned angrily to Sean, ready to confront him when he noticed the ginger boy. His pupils were blown, and his mouth was salivating, he looked at Hank hungrily. Hank backed away cautiously, "Oh Hank. Hank! Hank! You smell, oh god, you smell delicious!" Sean looked like he was going delirious and wild. His eyes were livid, and he began approaching Hank slowly, his fingers stretching out in front of him like he was trying to scratch an invisible Hank standing right in front of him with his eyes closed shut.
Hank was backing up quickly, "Sean, Sean, please stay away from me." He quickly backed out of the room and slammed the door behind him, panting heavily. He started running towards the lab.
A voice floated through Hank's mind. Hank! Oh Hank! I've been looking for you everywhere! I've been thinking about you so much! Why don't you come up to my room Hank? The voice nagged at the back of his head, as if it was trying to pull him back. Suddenly his mind was flooded with a flash of dirty images that made him blush deeply beneath all that blue fur. He ran into the lab and slammed the door behind him.
Waiting in his lab, lazing about in a very suggestive pose was one of the newest recruits, a young woman by the name of Marie with a very unique power, and Hank was sure he didn't want to get anywhere near her. Not that she wasn't a very beautiful girl, but she could probably kill him. She smiled shyly at him, "Oh hi Hank! Whatcha working on?" she said playfully.
Suddenly another young girl, also a new recruit came running through the walls, she grinned at Hank, "Oh hi Hank! I see Rogue is already here." She looked at the first girl knowingly, "But thats ok! I don't mind sharing!" she gave Hank a wicked wink, and he felt like he might sully his pants. Hank turned from the lab in fear, leaving two girls looking after him in a confused shock.
He ran to what he theorized was the safest place in the mansion, the bunker. He was surprised to find someone already there. Alex turned startled when Hank came bundling in. It looked like he was trying to practice, he had a couple mannequins set up and the middle one was aflame. He was wearing his X-suit. He shouted out in surprise, "Hank what are you doing here?" Funny it seemed like he was the first person all day to not be pleased to see him. Maybe the love potion didn't work on people that hated you.
For the moment Hank felt that he was safe and slumped to the ground. He let out a deep breath, "So Sean found this bottle in one of the rooms we were cleaning out and it wound up being a love potion and he sprayed it on me and now everyones chasing me and trying to jump me and Charles sent dirty images into my mind and I'm really really scared." Hank poured all of it out in really quick words and was left in sobs at the end.
Alex just stared at him in disbelief, "A love potion? Really?"
Hank looked defensively, "Yes! Look I just had to run away from Marie and Kitty in my lab, it looks like they can't find me here for now. Could I just chill here for a moment?"
Alex looked surprised, "So wait, you turned down Kitty and Marie?"
Hank seemed pissed that that was all Alex took out of it, and was angry that he thought Alex might be possible of sympathy, "Well Marie could kill me!"
Alex replied "Oh right! So… what if I didn't believe you? Could you prove this?" Now he was just curious. Had Hank really turned down the girls, and Charles, and probably Sean too? And than found himself in front of Alex and thought it safe to let down his guard? What exactly did that mean for Alex?
Hank looked worried, no he looked downright scared, "Umm… I uh… I guess I could…" he bit his lip nervously. He didn't really want to go back out there, but if Alex believed him and it didn't affect Alex maybe he could help him to find some type of cure for this…
Alex went to grip Hank's hand "Alright, lets go than." When they exited the bunker together they heard a commotion at the front of the mansion and went to take a look. It appeared to be a full out brotherhood/X-men brawl. Hank wondered in surprise why they hadn't been alerted that the Brotherhood had invaded, and than he knew.
The crowd suddenly took notice of him, and they all seemed to shout out at once "Hank!" There was pushing and shoving to try and get closer to him. Angel tried to fly to him, but Sean flew into her knocking her down, Azazel tried to just materialize towards him, but Emma and Raven both grabbed a hold of him and he tried to shake them off, Charles tried to reach out to his mind again, and Erik was pelting him with small metal objects. Rogue was wrestling with some of the other new male recruits, threatening to grab them with her bare hands. As the first intruders made their way to Hank: Azazel, Raven, and Emma, Hank shrunk behind Alex. It was strange to see the big blue beast shrinking behind a smaller blond boy.
Alex stood his ground, and shouted out to all of them "Stop it! All of you!" He growled angrily at Raven who switched back to her more familiar blonde form and was trying to wink at Hank and blow him kisses. Alex roared "Back off! Everyone just back off! No one is getting a hold of Hank, or I'll blast you all!" He bared his teeth at them. Again it seemed that the boy was trying to adopt the more animalistic techniques at Hank's hiding. The crowd seemed to all turn to Alex, slightly intimidated. Erik looked like he wanted to challenge Alex, so Alex shot a warning blast past him. The tall metal bender backed off. Charles' voice came to Alex's head Now now Alex, calm down. I think we could settle this calmly. Alex thought back GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT angrily. Charles grabbed at his head wincing in pain. Alex snarled to the crowd, "Ok, now Hank and I are going to leave, and NO ONE is going to follow. And all Brotherhood members are going to leave, IMMEDIATELY." He glared at Erik at this, who looked like he might burst into tears. Alex continued, "And all X-men will go to their rooms and sit quietly." Alex took Hank's hand and pulled him after himself, heading to the bunker.
When they were in the bunker Hank and Alex collapsed onto the ground, sitting up against the wall facing the door incase Alex had to blast someone that followed. Alex let out a long breath. Hank turned to Alex, smiling meekly, "Thanks Alex. I really appreciate it."
Alex was blushing, "Yea well, they were being annoying."
Hank laughed, his hand brushed up against Alex's and he really wanted to hold it again. It was as if Alex had read his mind when he suddenly grabbed a hold of Hank's hand, squeezing it tightly. Hank felt safe with Alex, even if he was supposed to be a beast that was intimidating. Hank laughed, "You know, it's almost nice to have so many people interested in me all of a sudden. I wonder why the potion didn't work on you though." He was pretty sure Alex didn't hate him now.
Alex laughed at him, and Hank frowned embarrassed, "For someone so smart you're pretty dumb sometimes. I'm pretty sure love potions don't work on people that are already in love." Hank choked on the words. What? What? What? His brain was churning, but nothing was making any sense. Before he could ask Alex to clarify he was on Hank's lap and reaching his hands into the blue fur on his head and pushing his lips towards Hanks and grazing Hank's lips with his tongue. Hank took him into his arms too and returned the kiss, letting Alex push his tongue into his mouth, and playing with it shyly with his own. At that moment Hank knew he didn't have to worry about a love potion anymore. He was actually kind of glad that Sean had sprayed him in the first place. Because it had worked, it helped him to realize how much he really liked Alex. He guessed that the potion actually worked in reverse, it showed the wearer who they loved, it was the only explanation as to why Alex had appeared before him.
