Well life's gotten a little more hectic, a lot more time consuming and a hell of a lot more interesting. I finally will be able to do something as an actor I've been waiting to do for a long time, I'm finally doing Shakespeare. Granted a little differently than I thought. I am now in production of Ramapo's Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare's lesser known comedies, written right before he released Hamlet. It's a fun little show, I play Sebastian, twin brother of Olivia, and through various twists and turns of the plot, we each are thought to be the other, except Olivia's in drag at the time. It's a decent sized part, a good part to begin Shakespeare with, it'll be fun. The interesting twist however comes with the setting our director has chosen. We'll be setting it a bit more modern, set in the 60's, you know with the free love and all that, still keeping it in a magic kingdom far far away, but giving it more of a beach surfer motif, it's basically the version of twelfth night would be if Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello would dig, but all in all a very interesting take. And so I begin my journey into Shakespeare, which lately I've been very into, going insofar to check out his other lesser known plays and sitting down with an actual Shakespearen language dictionary to hammer out his words so I can understand his puns a bit more, which I have to say he was a great lover of.
Well here's off into that wonderful world of the bard...
Groovy baby, really swag groovy.
Dear lord, someone shoot me.
