NY Fashion Week

So, New York Fashion Week recently ended, and I'm getting to flex my (budding) fashion nerd muscles a bit.

Paper Magazine has a best of runway feature, that shows over a dozen of the collections that debuted at fashion week. Of course, in the print version of the magazine they'll have even more collections, but this is a pretty good sampling of ( Read more... )

Vena Cava looks nice.

BUT on thing I see with all of these is that it comes fomr the masses into the fasion world and the resorted/represented with their interpretation. So, mostly it looks very familiar.

Nice stuff in general though...

Yea, I didn't see much of anything groundbreaking in this season's stuff. And, of course, fashion is generally a big back-and-forth between what the masses (or, at least, certain sub-cultures within the masses) are wearing and what the fashion elite poach and re-purpose from that (which then gets re-purposed by the masses, and the cycle continues).

Thanks Lance! I did not realize you were a fashion nerd. I mean, you always look stylish and all. I am with you on the high waists. They are awful! But unfortunately they have been out of fashion for so long that I suppose it is time for them to come back. Bleh.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a favorite mens' designer? Have a favorite mens' collection for 2009?
