I haven't been doing so lately just because my day-to-day activities this summer would be incredibly boring to read about and I haven't accomplished anything monumentally important. Haha, I'm a computer information systems major and a psychology minor...just finishing up the last few classes for the minor. I didn't go math or physics 'cause I can never find the motivation to do the work and I didn't want to be like every other CIS major and take a business minor. I had a psych course I enjoyed my first semester and it just kinda stuck after that. At one point I was thinking about maybe doing something with artificial intelligence, but I probably won't get enough math in for that now. Right now the line I'm using is that it'll help me deal with people in the workplace better if I can possibly understand their motives a little more. But yes, it is an odd choice, heh.

As for the Song of Ice and Fire books, although there are wars breaking out (and probably bigger ones to come), most of the chapters aren't specifically focused on the fighting. There are tons and tons of characters to keep track of...a majority of the stuff is either people traveling from one place to another or having hushed conversations behind everyone else's back. If it weren't for some of the fantastical elements it could almost be considered medieval history...though considerably more interesting than a textbook. The sex/violence/language is pretty graphic, but most of the time it fits with the realistic feel of the world. Not all the likeable characters live, not all the unlikeable ones die. So far the first book has been my favorite. I'd suggest maybe reading a few chapters to see what you think at least.
