Genetics

I was a little irked today when my genetics teacher completely misinformed my genetics class about the genetic cause of Prader-Willi and Angelman's Disorder. It's one thing to fudge a few details or blank out on a subject. It's quite another thing to state completely wrong information and furnish it as truth. Teachers should know the material, and if they aren't 100% sure and deliberate in their lesson, they need to be candid about it.

It's especially poignant because my dad, a school psychologist, and I both have a special interest in Prader-Willi from his past case histories. And, it's an utterly tragic disease.

Anyway, I felt the need to rant. I must review lines and work on my genetics essay--about Prader-Willi--so no more posting.
