I have no idea why, but I have become very focused on this doublet and the one kind of similar (it has skirting) in PoF.  Although I know I have seen it in the past, I can't seem to find a good copy of the painting.  The child? in the full painting is pretty cute too.

I do not need to be making myself anything now.  I need to make a doublet for

It's a lovely doublet, though... Need and "need" are two different things when facing such gorgeous objects!

I know. It may move up on the project list. Since I have sorted through the fabric stash, maybe I could settle for a linen doublet and skirt, even though I'd love a swooshy silk skirt.

I agree, it is lovely, and just the kind of image I was wondering would be out there, as I am also pondering a black doublet of some sort for myself. But I also have other projects that need to be finished first.

I also have been looking through these. I really like the doublet and jacket look. I'm going to have to try making a small ruff to see if I can stand it. It does complete the look.
