'Twas wondrous indeed. Although I wished I'd listened to my instincts and dragged myself up to Edinburgh--that would have made it unbelievable. lesigh Reading people's stories about the big night makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. *grin*

Heheh, yeah, I would have KILLED to be in Edinburhg--and I mean that quite literally. How far is Edinburgh?

It's just under 350 miles away from London, so about a 6-7 hour car journey, but it's much shorter if you go by train.

In the FAQ section JKR's site: "Are there to be book signings anywhere in the future?" "Watch this space!". I'm taking that to mean there will a book signing in the near future!

...right, I also know how to spell Edinburgh. :o)

Wow, that's a long car ride...that's like Detroit to Lexington. And if there is a book signing--whew, you might want to reserve a spot ASAP. *grin*

LOL, yeah! I'm hoping she'll tour the UK or something. Didn't she do an American tour or something after GoF was released?

I actually don't know, I wasn't a big fan then. I read the first three books in November 1999 and loved them, and I just started to cycle-read those (finish one, start the next...finish three, start over), and when GoF came out it took me a few weeks to realize there was ANOTHER one...so then I just read GoF (two days!! yay :o) ) and cycle-read them, and it wasn't until spring 2001 that I really got into Harry Potter (like the community and everything). So I don't know if she toured the US in 2000...I know she DID tour the US, but when I don't know, sorry. :o)

(Fuck, that was a long explanation for a simple "I don't know!" LOL)

LOL! *is amused* Yeah, I just found it--she did tour in the US in 2000. I was hoping to go to the Royal Albert Hall thing, but even though my school got picked in the ballot, they only allowed kids from the Junior schol to go (not the High school). One of my friend's sister managed to get JK to sign her OotP. >.< Ah, meeting JK will have to wait until I'm rich and famous. *grin*

(Looks like I'm long-winded as well ;) )

Ooh, wow, such a close call...! You live in England though, so you're lucky in that way :o) JKR doesn't seem to like leaving the UK very often.

True. Although she doesn't seem to leave Edinburgh much nowadays either. I should just go up there, sit in a cafe and pray that she turns up!

(Incidentally (sp?!), where are your favourite places to write? I've been asking some fanfic writers and there were some weird answers! :o) )

Doesn't she have houses in other parts of the UK?

Oy...favorite places to write? I usually don't write anywhere except on my laptop in my room, but there HAVE been some odd places when I write in my notebook (which is rare). Let's see...in the middle of class? That was popular. In hallways, mostly on floors, just stuff like that. I'm uncreative, sorry. :o)

LOL, no, in hallways is good place. I may try that sometime! *grin* One of the weirder answers I got was on the loo! ;)

Sorry, my mistake, she rarely leaves her home in Perthshire (rural Scotland), although she has houses in Edinburgh and London. I don't think she's come down to London for a while now (apart from the Albert Hall thing).

Perthshire? Really? Dude...interesting. How far is Perthshire and Edinburgh?

Hmmm...I'm not sure about distance, but I know it's about an hour's drive from Edinburgh (can't go by train as it's a rural area).

Whereabouts will you be if you study for a year in the UK?

Interesting...I'm not entirely sure yet. I'll have to figure it all out my sophomore year, rather the spring of my freshman year, so we'll see. :o)
