Yo ho, Yo ho, A pirates life for me!
As promised, thoughts on PotC2.
Again, I picked an amazing movie to go to, not that I was expecting anything less from Pirates. Honestly, I don't have much of anything to C/C on the film, because frankly I loved it. It wasn't very dramatic, but the drama sequences were placed in the exact right moments, and Johnny, Orlando, and Keira did another amazing job with the with and the humour. It was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a very long time. So, I loved it. Call me a fangirl (you'd be correct, by the way) but it was extraordinary. Oh, and it left me wanting the third one like there is no tomorrow. The first movie gave us some closure, if you all remember. It didn't leave a whole lot of things open-ended, or if it did, it gave you enough to assume endings that were probable. The second installment, however, left several things unknown and begging to be explained.

For one, is Jack actually dead?! My bet's are on no because, whatr would Pirates be without Captain Jack Sparrow? Still, that last shot of him being devoured by the Crackken (don't know how to spell that) with his sword drawn, ready for the fight of his life was more than a little unnerving. It was like... "I'm going to kill you!" *enveloped in Crackken teeth* I just don't know.
Secondly....Elizabeth, how dare you kiss Jack! Sure, it was to chain him to his own ship so they could escape, but come on! There was passion there, and we all saw it. Plus, Will saw you! You are MEANT to be with Will. I didn't like that. Poor Will has enough emotional turmoil to deal with right now, without having to worry about the loyalty of his true love. NOT COOL. I don't like not knowing where Elizabeth and Will stand with each other romantically. It puts me on edge, being a hopeless romantic myself.
Thirdly...and most importantly... BARBOSSA!? WTF?! Jack sooooo killed him in the first movie, we all saw it, we all know that he was dead, dead, dead, DEAD. So why is it that he's alive again?! Don't get me wrong, if he's going to help bring Jack back, I'm all for it, but the very last shot of the movie was Barbossa being introduced. We got no explination, no closure, nothing. Just a beg and plead for the third movie. I really, really, with a whole lot of skeptism, want to know how they are going to explain that. I have no doubt that they will be able to, but it had better be logical in PotC terms and not a biiig stretch, because that would ruin all the amazing-ness that this series of movies holds for me. Still, I'm baffled. BARBOSSA?! WTF?! Again.

There you go, not a review, more of a fangirl-type spazz and a beg and plead for the third movie. Oh, however, I've got one more thing to type, though it isn't really Pirates centric. More like my life centric. So, my family and I were walking out of the theater and I saw that cute guy I danced with at the reception and hung out with at Jen's that one night in line for the next showing. I smiled and waved but didn't really expect anything in return because he was with a friend, but I got a smile and wave back, which sorta made my stomach do that funny lurch thing. Anyway, it kinda made my night, which is funny because I totally don't think of him THAT way. Yeah, he's cute, whatever, but he makes much better friend material. I'll admit that perhaps I have a crushlet on him, but let's keep that between us, yeah?
