so NOW the rumor is not that they're closing Emerson as a school, just the building.
are they building a new school? NAY, of course not. instead, they will send the kids from Emerson all the way to Wirt in Miller. and then they're going to send the kids at Wirt all the way to West Side in Gary.

Emerson averages 500, maybe 550 students grades 6th - 12th. Wirt has at least 200 beyond that. are they planning to increase the size of Emerson?
and how in hell are 700 kids going to fit into Westside's ginormous population? has Westside's attrition rate increased that much that they can afford to take on a whole other school?
it's all rather ridiculous. and nobody knows a damned thing.
