I am here, have been here, for 2 weeks and am having a blast. I was rooming with a sophmore in a big room but have now moved in to a smaller room with a freshman and am much happier for it. I am super-jew here, which is different but fun. I am in hillel and tzedek, go to services every week, live in the Jew house and am taking the aformentioned two jewish classes. I'm in a choir although i didn't get for-credit voice lessons because they had a shortage of teachers this semester. I might try again next semester. My classes are great, especially the Intro to the Hebrew bible. If you want to know the similarities between the stories of Noah's flood and the Illiad, just ask.
My goal for this week is to make more friends on main campus, although program house kids are a blast, it's nice to get some variety. I got an amazing peice of art for the semester at the art rental. On the door to our room there are now two signs, one says Work: I hate the word as i hate hell, all montagues and thee. and the other one has a picture of two guys ina bathtub and it says "wish getting screwed by the government was this hot? so do we. Help the queer katrina releif effort"
I've been pretty homesick but it's manageable
It's my birthday tomorrow and my birthdays are always unmitigated disasters, i am worried. we'll see.
