Saw The Guide, and enjoyed it because it was different enough from the book that I wasn't comparing them every ten seconds. The book is obviously better but the movie makes a good addition to the collection. I thought that the romance plotline was weak, but the acting was great especially Mos Def. The mixed up accents completly confused me. According to the books Ford is supposed to be the only one with an American accent, as he is posing as an out of work actor from New York. Trillian is definitly supposed to be British.
Before I saw the guide I went to my last NWS music concert. I have to say that the musical talent at my school has improved since I've been there, I can almost stand to listen to the orchestra now. They gave me flowers and chocolate onstage for my contribution to the music program at the school, it's only funny because I was seriously considering skipping the concert and going to tour rehearsal instead. Frankly, for all those hours I put in as "chorus girl" over four years I think I deserved some chocolate.
I'm really worried about Sara's new rehearsal schedule, because frankly, after I graduate and I tell people that I spent 10 years in the Northwest Girlchoir, I want them to be impressed, not condescending. I think I am going to write an email to her, and I highly recommend that all choirgirls reading this do as well.
