Vulnerability ~ Tolerance & Compassion
What we Resist in others teaches us what we resist in ourselves…
If someone rubs you, can you step back in observation of
“Where is this originating?”

What is it about the person that bothers you?

Can you recognize yourself in their behavior?

If you’re truly honest with yourself, this will be extremely humbling!

The other day I was reminded of how when people feel overly comfortable with me but yet, I still feel a resistance towards them.

WOW! I am able to trace it back to how I used to try too hard for people to like me or get attention.  It’s no surprise that being able to connect with someone makes us feel secure!

Isn’t it ironic that we all want attention and we can witness when someone is extremely needy but still reject them.  But ultimately the best thing we can do is to embrace them because there’s clearly a reason for it!

One reason we resist them is because of their vulnerability - it brings up the issue of trust. They don’t appear stable to us so we feel they’re not trustworthy; we sense their insecurity!  We can only know these things from our own experiences!  It's that the trust they don't feel within themselves makes us dis-trust their inauthentic behavior of trying to be what they're not in order to be accepted for what they are.

What we see is our own Vulnerable Self mirrored back at us!

I can actually look back and remember how much I would try so hard in interactions with people to feel included by trying so hard to please, appease, please, find things to say, or anything I thought would draw them closer to me.  At the same time, I can look back and remember the feeling of being rejected.  I can see how I was trying so hard it would actually repel them. But I also remember how it hurt, my efforts were too much and I didn’t feel accepted.

~*♥*~ So, the next time someone appears too needy to you, stop and consider they’re probably hungry for human connection and need your compassion the most!
We all want to be seen, heard, and accepted and embraced for who we are!  It’s all about Love! Greet everyone you meet with Love & Compassion! ~*♥*~
