Successful Shopping... Finally

We all knew it would be difficult to find a dress for me to wear for my sister's wedding (in 4 weeks time), but even I was beginning to lose hope.

The only real stipulation my sister gave me was that black was a last resort (and I did agree, who really wants to wear black to a wedding).

Unfortunately after three good days of searching I had only found one minimally acceptable dress (my other sister had picked out a dress for me that had shoestring straps (which meant that I would be unable to wear a bra with it (at the moment a size E cup - definately need a bra).

Today, I took mum with me to help me look (and have another look at the dress my sister picked out), so we searched. I can't count the number of shops we went to (at least 5 big stores, and 3 smaller ones) in the second to last store we went to I found a dress that was only semi-acceptable, it was red, but very tight, and given that I have quite a bit of growing to do in the next month, I was a little wary of it (the other problem with it being that it already showed my underwear through, which was only going to get worse).

I was ready to buy the red dress, only to stop having to look at dress, after dress, after dress, which were all unsuitable (or very black). Until mum made the suggestion that we put it on hold for a day, til I could get one of my sisters to come and have another look at it. Did that, and then went to one more store.

I found a dress, it looks fantastic on and is not completely black (ok, so it's mostly black, but it has gold beading and sequins around the front of the neck and below the bust, and it's comfortable doesn't show my underwear or bra, and doesn't need adjustments to make it wearable). So, mum made a phone call to my sisters, to tell them that unless they had a very good reason for me not wearing mostly black, I was going to get the one I had on. The part that made it the most successful part for me was that the dress was 25% off (which meant that my budget was not blown on the dress only).

The next job is to buy shoes to match. I suppose gold or black. Lets see if I can manage to keep within my budget with the shoes as well.
