First Movements & Broken Glasses

Sep 16, 2006 17:28

This is actually yesterdays news but... oh well.

Yesterday afternoon 4.30pm I felt the bub move for the first time. I would have appreciated it more if I was not at work and sitting at my desk. It was only for a couple of seconds, but it happened twice. It probably would have been more but my boss walked into my office at that point and scared the hell out of me. Although I am very lucky that she didn't ask me why I was sitting back in my chair staring at the ceiling with a huge smile on my face.

Dinner with the family was nice as well. Well, until my sister broke one of mums 32 year old Bohemian Crystal wine glasses, one of twelve (ok eleven) that she bought in Russian and carried around the world (packing and repacking them everywhere she went since they were individual glasses and not boxed). Mum was alright (although I could see that she was upset (the last time one broke (earlier this year), it was dad who did it, and sliced his hand on it, so she had to look after him not get upset).

We got the whole story about the glasses again (we got it last time when dad broke the last one). But then during dessert, it happened, she broke another one (set now contains nine glasses), mum hates herself (since she was the one who told dad to put out the good glasses), and my sister is probably in the worst trouble she has been in since we were teenagers.
