I'm Booked in for Tomorrow!

Mar 25, 2006 17:01

Got my confirmation phone call this afternoon telling me that my body was ready and that I was booked in for my IVF insemination at 11am tomorrow, and that I would have to take my trigger injection this afternoon.

I danced around the office for a while and then relaxed (well the smile on my face would have told anyone who saw me that something fantastic had occured.

Finished work around 3pm and asked mum very nicely if she would come over to give me the injection, she said not a problem, and about 3.30pm she gave me the injection (wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm glad i didn't have to do it myself).

While talking to mum we discusses the fact that there is a chance of having twins (I have two eggs forming), her first reaction was of absolute joy (and that's the one I want to remember), then she had to spoil it by going on about whether I would be able to cope with twins. I told her I would cope - and if I couldn't she would be around to help. And her reply was, 'of course I will'.

The only slight downside to the insemination happening tomorrow is that I will no longer be able to go with my sisters tomorrow afternoon to see my youngest sister's choice of wedding dress. She understands though, and has said numerous times over the past month that the insemination (and pregnancy - I'm hopeful it will happen this time) takes precedence over everything else (including her wedding - although I don't want to miss that, it may happen).

I have been practically bouncing the whole afternoon, and am looking forward to tomorrow.
