There's no fear quite like flashing your BIOS for the very first time.
And nothing ups the dramatic tension like a crash of thunder just as you're finishing the process.
(I was flashing the BIOS and replacing the OS (2000 -> XP). It seems to have gone ok, quite painless really, though I don't have any software installed yet besides virus/spyware protection and a browser. We'll see.)
