I’ve been away on vacation. Had a wonderful trip to Hornby Island where my husband’s family has a cabin. It’s a tiny little island off of Vancouver Island that takes two ferries to get to. It has many beautiful beaches, amazing local artists and artisans, lots of great food, so many fun things to do. We hiked, we sunbathed, we swam in the ocean, walked on the beach, and we even went kayaking. We took all of our pets and they had a great time too, especially our dog, who learned how to swim (finally at the age of 8!), poked her head into many places she should not have on the beach and in the woods, and even had a summer romance with a golden lab.
Well now I’m back and of course the first thing I did after I got back (well, after unpacking, having a proper bath, and sleeping in a clean bed) was fire up my torch. I recently got an 8 lpm oxygen concentrator and I’m finding it’s helping me to get cleaner and clearer colours and work more quickly and efficiently. I have my two 5 lpm units available for sale on UsedVictoria if you are interested. One of them is sort of pooped out, and the other definitely needs some overhauling, so I am selling them for quite cheap. Unfortunately if you aren’t local it probably wouldn’t be worth your while since I think shipping them would be difficult and expensive. But if you happen to live nearby, here’s the listing for the ad.
Now on to another of Val Cox Frit’s new blends - “First Light” - which I have been experimenting with this week. I have a lot of these sets available in my Etsy store and also on eBay. I’ve been working quite a lot on both of my stores, so you should come have a look!

This neutral blend of pearlescent opaque tones is highly versatile. Fuss free. Good for all seasons. Nice for floral and seashell designs.
Amy’s Notes:
This blend was easy to work with, and quite versatile. Very soft and pretty with the lighter transparents but able to stand on its own on darker colours for more contrast.
