I have been writing bits of stories in my head but lacking the fortitude to write anything down. The miller's daughter dances around a campfire in fascinated mimicry of Rumpelstiltskin. A line of poetry for my children about the hand-shaking tree that formidable winter made less congenial (but will perhaps wink or wave instead in spring) is jumbled and runs back and forth and forth and back like my son singing "Wheels on the Bus" whilst pushing the grey plastic shopping cart about in the play area. Maybe I've unwittingly stolen it from somewhere. Well.
Sadly, the new Lady Gaga single is underwhelming.
I read Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain by Portia de Rossi and found it admirably honest. Her recounting of her experience with anorexia and bulimia is detailed and raw, and a great deal of it felt very familiar to me. It is startling to look back down that particular rabbit hole after you've emerged and walked away mostly intact. Anyway, ♥ Portia, and I'm so glad she is healthy and happy now. She seems like a really cool person, beautiful on every level.
In other news, Bob Dylan is performing at the Grammys with the Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons, which of course means that I will have to watch the telecast. Life is hard, kids.
