I love you, Glee, but.

I realize this show doesn't exist to cater to my preferences, and I am sure I'm about to sound like a wizened old granny shouting at kids to get off her lawn, but here I go anyhow.

The Britney thing was cute. Heather Morris is hot, with enviable abs and an evidently great talent for dance. Still, can we get back to hearing, you know, good music at least every other week. I do not like "You Are the Only Exception", and "Billionaire" is terrible. Terrible! It really speaks to the standards of our time when a popular song opens with the line, "I wanna be a billionaire so frickin' bad".

As for Will/Emma, I have been a fan since the beginning, but I really am starting to think the writers have rendered this ship irreparable. As in, even if they get together in the end, it won't have the same impact as it once might have. It feels spoiled. Obviously they wanted Emma to grow as a character, but I wish they could have gone about it in a different way. Will kissing and nearly hooking up with Shelby is right up there with Logan's little tryst with Madison Sinclair (on Veronica Mars), to me. As in, it's a wrong turn I like to pretend never actually happened. Anyway, I read a spoiler about another possible future love interest for Will, so maybe the writers have simply abandoned the idea of Will & Emma together. Perhaps that is for the best?

There seems to be a lot of hate for Will, which I sort of get, but in which I don't participate. I still love him, and I thought that the Mr. Schuester fangirl was spot on.

Other complaints:
  • Pretty much every single Jacob scene in the Britney episode unnecessarily crossed the line and ventured FAR into the realm of inappropriateness. Enough said.
  • I know there are a lot of people who are Jessalyn fans, but I hate the "crazy ex" storyline.
  • Rachel is quickly becoming very unsympathetic.
The positives: I really like the new football coach, and Matthew Morrison continues to be extremely pretty. Also, Emma's wardrobe is to-die-for, as always. She was rocking that purple monochromatic ensemble at the assembly.

Still waiting for a Bowie song.

hotties, just not right, logan/veronica, shipping, matthew morrison, dance, bowie, glee, music, telly, wtf, will/emma, veronica mars
